: (1) A Pesticides Committee shall be formed to give necessary advice to the Government of Nepal on the matter of determining the national policy on pesticides and to implement the national policy on pesticides.
(2) The committee will consist of the following members –
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture – Chairman
(b) Head, Central Entomology Division – Member
(c) Head, Central Division of Pathology – Member
(d) Head, Malaria Eradication Project – Member
(e) Representative, Nepal Quality Office – Member
(f) Representative, Food Crops and Fisheries Development Department, Crop Protection Branch – Member
(g) Three scientists related to agriculture, animal and forestry science nominated by Nepal government - members
(h) One pesticide entrepreneur and one consumer farmer nominated by the Government of Nepal - member
(i) Person designated by the Government of Nepal - Member - Secretary
(3) According to clauses (g) and (h) of sub-section (2), the term of office of the members nominated by the Government of Nepal shall be two years and after the expiry of the term of office, they may be re-nominated.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (3), the government of Nepal may remove the member nominated by the government of Nepal in accordance with clauses (g) and (h) of sub-section (2) before the completion of his term of office. (5) If the Government of Nepal deems it necessary, it may make necessary additions or changes in the members of the committee by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(6) If the committee deems it necessary, it may invite a domestic or foreign expert or consultant as an observer to the meeting of the committee.
